Our classes are taught by experienced professionals who study dog behavior and use only force-free, reward-based training.
“Based on current scientific evidence, AVSAB recommends that only reward-based training methods are used for all dog training, including the treatment of behavior problems. Aversive training methods have a damaging effect on both animal welfare and the human-animal bond.”

Your Dog’s Friend follows Montgomery County Government COVID-19 guidelines. Therefore, effective November 20, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., face coverings will again be required for all in-person classes.
Due to the substantial increase in COVID cases recently we are also limiting the number of human attendees per dog for all in-person classes to two people effective January 2, 2022.
We believe that fewer dogs will be given up to shelters if we can help people understand what their dogs need and how their dogs learn.
So, we have workshops and webinars that are free – guidance for new adopters and presentations on all sorts of behavior, training, and health issues.
Some of our previous workshops are online for you to view any time.
Our newsletters include dog behavior articles, upcoming free workshops, new classes, training tips, and more!
